Stunting is a form of impaired linear growth caused by prolonged nutritional deficits and is closely linked to maternal
health conditions and early child care practices. This issue remains a major public health concern in Indonesia. This
study aims to analyze the association between several determinant factorsmaternal chronic energy deficiency
(CED), maternal anemia, low birth weight (LBW), and the history of exclusive breastfeedingwith stunting among
children aged 24–59 months in the working area of Edison Jaar Health Center. A case-control design was applied,
involving 106 participants selected through purposive sampling, consisting of 53 cases and 53 controls. Data were
analyzed using the chi-square test. The results indicated significant associations between maternal CED (p=0.000;
OR=6.006; 95% CI=2.191–16.464), maternal anemia (p=0.002; OR=4.655; 95% CI=1.843–11.755), LBW history
(p=0.000; OR=5.867; 95% CI=2.245–2.915), and non-exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.000; OR=33.683; 95%
CI=11.287–100.522) with stunting incidence. These findings highlight the need for strengthening maternal nutrition
programs, promoting exclusive breastfeeding practices, and enhancing health education during the first 1000 days of
life. Cross-sectoral collaboration is essential to reduce risk factors contributing to stunting among toddlers.
