Low back pain in pregnancy is described as pain in the lumbar region, above the sacrum and this pain may radiate to
the legs, the pain is often dull in nature and is aggravated by anterior flexion of the lumbar spine. Back pain that is
not treated can lead to chronic back pain. Besides that, the impact of back pain is sleep disturbance, loss of
concentration, decreased appetite and difficulty doing other relaxing activities. These things can cause discomfort to
the mother so that pregnant women feel stressed. Non-pharmacological efforts that can be done with Prenatal yoga
and Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) Aromatherapy, which are said to be safe and have benefits in reducing back
pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a combination of prenatal yoga and lavender
aromatherapy on lower back pain in third trimester pregnant women. The research design was Quasi-Experimental
with the experimental design used being the Pre-post Test Design (with control group). The total sample of 30
pregnant women according to the inclusion criteria was divided into 15 control groups and 15 treatment groups.
Acidental sampling technique. The data collection tool used was the NRS questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis used
the Man-Whitney tests. The results showed that there was a significant difference in lower back pain in third
trimester pregnant women between the control group and the combination of prenatal yoga and lavender
aromatherapy, p-value 0.000 (p-value <0.05).
