Peer Review Process

JOIN applies a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. This system ensures objectivity, scientific integrity, and quality of manuscript evaluation. The peer review process follows these steps:

  • Initial Screening by Editor: Manuscripts submitted through the OJS system are initially reviewed by the editor to ensure they align with the journal's focus and comply with submission guidelines, including publication ethics and plagiarism checks.
  • Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The double-blind process helps avoid bias.
  • Review Process: Reviewers are given 2–4 weeks to evaluate the manuscript’s novelty, methodology, clarity, scholarly contribution, and ethical compliance. Possible recommendations include:
  • Accepted without revision
  • Accepted with minor revision
  • Major revision required
  • Rejected
  • Author Revision: If revisions are required, authors must respond to reviewers' feedback and submit a response letter detailing changes.
  • Final Decision by Editor: The editor makes a final decision based on reviewers' recommendations and the quality of revisions submitted.
  • Article Publication: Accepted manuscripts are processed for online publication with a DOI and complete metadata.
