Food Safety Monitoring Management Strategy and Clean Water Provision to Support the Reduction of Stunting Rates in the Lebiti Community Health Center Work Area, Togean District

Abstract

Background : Stunting is a chronic public health problem influenced by multidimensional factors, including food 
security and access to clean water. Island regions are highly vulnerable due to limited infrastructure, food 
distribution, and clean water supply systems. This study aims to analyze food security management and clean 
water provision as an effort to reduce stunting in island regions. The study design used a quantitative approach with 
a cross-sectional method. The independent variables included food safety practices and clean water access, while 
the dependent variable was the incidence of stunting. The results indicate that poor food safety practices and 
limited access to clean water are significantly associated with an increased risk of stunting. Strengthening 
monitoring systems, improving sanitation, and community-based interventions are key strategies in reducing 
stunting prevalence.
